Jalkranti:

An initiative by Dr. Parmeshwar Arora

Approach: How to Bring Jalkranti

Dr. Arora has invented Simple, Practical & Very effective ways to save water at Individual level in daily life. Jal Kranti – Swaasthya sang jal sanrakshan (Conserving water while preserving health), has been an initiative by Dr. Parmeshwar Arora to save our Planet. Today, a normal household wastes thousands of litres of water annually, without realizing that it would need years to reproduce the same quantity through natural processes. Easy availability of water has made us careless, undermining its significance and resulting in its wastage. Dr. Arora has been working tirelessly since 1st Oct 2016 to create awareness about conservation of water through all means possible.

Dr. Arora has been working on multiple initiatives through his mission Jal-Kranti to achieve this target, some of them are summarised in sections below:

1) By changing the water serving habits:
Dr. Arora’s campaign about not serving water-filled glasses to the guests has caught many eyes as it suggests simple ways of reducing the water served to guests, which has been a very basic part of Indian culture.

2) By avoiding careless use of water:
Optimal use of water while brushing or shaving – by using foot-controlled tap. Regular habits with respect to cleaning of floor, washing the cars, bathing etc. can be adjusted to make optimum use of water. Also water filtering techniques like reverse-osmosis which wastes a lot of water in the name of providing clean water should be looked at. Here you may like to refer to another book by Dr. Arora – ‘Jal Sanrakshan ke Vyavahaarik Upaay

3) By changing the water consumption habits:
Dr. Arora has done a detailed research on Vedic way of water consumption – which involves breaking the myth of drinking more and more water for maintenance of health. His research work is also presented through his books – ‘Jal - Amrit ya Vish’ (in Hindi) and ‘Water – Elixir or Poison’ (in English).

4) A campaign for adopting specific dietary pattern i.e. to avoid grains which require too much of water for their cultivation at least twice a week.

5) To encourage public in general to demand the surety for water availability from administrators and politicians.
